The Brevard Cultural Alliance announced three new members to its Board of Directors – Misty Belford, Dr. Richard Levine and Jim Ridenour.
BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Brevard Cultural Alliance announced three new members to its Board of Directors – Misty Belford, Dr. Richard Levine and Jim Ridenour.
The Board provides oversight of the organization and advocacy for the arts and cultural sector in the community.
Misty Belford
Misty Belford serves as the District 1 Representative on the Brevard Public School Board. She holds an M.A. in Corporate Communication and Technology from Rollins College and has been teaching at Rollins since 2002. In addition to her work with Brevard Public Schools and Rollins, Mrs. Belford is a drowning prevention advocate providing water safety education as well as survival swim instruction to families throughout Brevard County. She serves as volunteer President for Swim Safe Forever, Inc., is a member of the Titusville Rotary and an active volunteer in Brevard Public Schools.
Dr. Richard Levine
Dr. Richard Levine is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology in practice at Space Coast Cancer Centers. Dr. Levine is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, Brevard County Medical Society, Florida Medical Association, and the Florida Society of Clinical Oncology (Past-President). He is the Medical Director of the Cancer Program at Viera Hospital and Cape Canaveral Hospital, and also serves on the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) National Quality of Care Committee.
Jim Ridenour
Jim Ridenour is the General Manager of the Marriott Courtyard and Residence Inn in West Melbourne and a member of the Tourism Development Council Board of Directors. He also serves as the president of the Space Coast Tiger Bay Club. Mr. Ridenour is a graduate of the United States Air Force’s Air War College and spent more than 28 years in the military, rising to the rank of colonel.
The Brevard Cultural Alliance represents the arts and cultural sector on Florida’s Space Coast. BCA’s strategic focus is to advance Brevard County as a cultural destination, enhance educational opportunities through engagement with the arts and bolster the sustainability of the cultural community.

“The BCA Board is a strong group of community leaders in Brevard and we are pleased to welcome Ms. Belford, Dr. Levine and Mr. Ridenour to our Board family,” said BCA Executive Director Neil Levine.
“Our three new members show incredible enthusiasm for our local arts community and we know they are going to make a real difference.”
The Brevard Cultural Alliance was founded in 1975 and is designated as Brevard County’s local arts agency by the Board of County Commissioners.
The BCA is supported by the State of Florida, Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs, the Florida Council on Arts and Culture, the Brevard County Board of County Commissioners, the Space Coast Office of Tourism, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
