BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – The City of Cocoa announced at the June 9 Council meeting the release of their new mobile app, “Cocoa Connect.”

The new user friendly application will make connecting residents and the community to services much easier with features such as a calendar of events, online bill pay, news and information and a citizen request tracker.

The application is free to download to all IPhone and Android devices through the app store.

In 2015, accessing the City of Cocoa website with a mobile device has already doubled through the first half of the year as compared to last year with over 50,000 users accessing the website via a mobile device.

Therefore, the city felt it was time to embrace this digital demand and make access to city services more convenient.

Citizens and the surrounding community will have access to features such as the Citizen Request Tracker which allows a resident to submit an issue such as a pothole or broken sidewalk.

A picture of the issue can be taken right from the mobile device and the location can be pinpointed through the GPS feature.

Once the issue is submitted, the citizen can track the request through the entire process to completion.

The community can get the calendar of events in the palm of their hand. Access upcoming special events, get push notifications and share the events on their social networks right from the app.
