Palm Bay Police Arrest 18-Year-Old Darius Poole For 2nd Degree Murder

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Palm Bay Police Department has arrested 18-year-old Darius Deshon Poole for 2nd degree murder of Hernan Hernandez Perez.

Police received a call early Friday morning from a resident at 1426 Nolan St. in Palm Bay, saying his roommate had been shot.

The roommate was identified as Hernan Hernandez Perez, of Palm Bay, and described by police in his early 30s.

Rescue crews responded quickly and located the victim in the residence with what appeared to be a gun shot wound, according to police.

The victim was transported to Holmes Regional Medical Center where he later died as a result of his injuries a few hours later.

The investigation led police and BCSO Gameover Taskforce to arrest 18-year-old Darius Deshon Poole for the murder of Perez.

Poole is charged with 2nd degree murder, Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and Possession of a firearm by an adjudicated delinquent.

Poole is currently being held at the Brevard County Jail in Sharpes with $150k bond.

Police are still investigating a motive.
