BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA –Women’s cross country’s Emily Iseley and football’s Jo Jackson were tabbed the Panther Student-Athletes of the Week for their performances during the week of Sept. 19-25.

Iseley led the way for the Florida Tech women’s cross country team at Saturday’s Mountain Dew Invitational hosted by the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida.

The Jacksonville product was the top female finisher for the Panthers, ending the 5K in a time of 20:11, good for 33rd overall out of 144 non-Division I competitors.

Jackson was all over the field for the Florida Tech football team in their 28-7 win over Division I FCS program Presbyterian on Saturday.

The Aldie, Virginia native registered a pair of interceptions, four tackles and two pass break ups in the victory, becoming the first player in program history to pick off multiple passes in one game.

He even turned one of his two interceptions into an 83-yard pick six.

For his impressive display during the Panthers’ win, Jackson was named the Gulf South Conference’s Defensive Player of the Week.

Iseley and the women’s cross country team will now prepare for their upcoming race at the Pre-Nationals Meet, which previews the course for this year’s NCAA Championship, on Oct. 8 in Dade City, Florida.

Jackson and the football team are once again on the road, this time to take on upstart program West Florida in the Coastal Classic on Saturday, Oct. 1 in Pensacola, Florida.
