BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne police is investigating a shooting that has left one dead and one wounded in an incident near Hendren Drive and Autumn Woods Drive.

According to Melbourne Police Lt. Shawn Eising, a call for service came in Saturday at 9:32 p.m. in reference to sounds of a disturbance and possible gunshots at a house in the area of Hendren Drive and Autumn Woods Drive.

“Two occupants were found to have suffered wounds received from gunshots,” said Lt. Eising in a release.

“One occupant was pronounced deceased at the scene, while the other was transported to a local hospital for treatment.”

According to Lt. Eising, it appears the incident was isolated within the residence and there is not an active search for any suspects at this time.

Names of the victims, and an exact address of the incident, have not been released pending notification of next-of-kin.
