Palm Bay Police Chief Mark Renkens Provides Safety Tips For Pedestrians

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Walking is one of the healthiest ways of exercise and getting around town.

In the wake of  Smart Growth America’s latest edition of its Dangerous By Design report, which ranks the most dangerous metro areas in the nation for pedestrian safety, Palm Bay Police Chief Mark Renkens provided some safety tips for pedestrians.

The report ranks Brevard County as the second most hazardous area for pedestrians among the 104 largest metro areas in the country.

“We want to make sure you get to where you are going,” said Chief Renkens.

“We care for the health, safety and welfare of all of our citizens. Here are some tips on how to arrive safely and get to your destination. Keep on walking, but do it safely.”
