FLORIDA KEYS (MyFWC) – Three teenaged boys needed to be rescued at sea Tuesday when their rented vessel became flooded with water and capsized 2.5 miles offshore while fishing.

Florida Fish and Wildlife officers Adam Garrison, Kyle Mason, and Investigator David Bingham, along with MCSO – Florida Keys Deputy James Hager, responded to the call.

When Investigator Bingham and Deputy Hager arrived to the scene, they found the stranded teens on top of the capsized vessel.

All three were transported safely to shore onboard Hager’s patrol vessel, and the capsized vessel was recovered.

In a fitting end for a tenured member of the Florida Fish and Wildlife law enforcement team, Investigator David Bingham retired from the agency last week, ending his career of patrolling and protecting the waters and people of Florida with one final rescue.
