Car Pelted With Multiple Gunshots Injures Man In South Brevard, Victim Drives Himself To ER

Melbourne Police received a call Friday morning from Holmes Regional Medical Center about someone being shot near 810 Juniper Lane in Melbourne, according to Cmdr. Sean Riordan of the Melbourne Police Department.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne Police received a call Friday morning from Holmes Regional Medical Center about someone being shot near 810 Juniper Lane in Melbourne, according to Cmdr. Sean Riordan of the Melbourne Police Department.

Authorities say when police arrived at the hospital they located the victim by the name of Ricardo Washington and found out he drove himself to the emergency room.

Washington was not initially able to provide information as to where the shooting occurred or when it had occurred.

However, when officers arrived at the hospital they found the vehicle Washington was driving and discovered multiple gunshot holes in the car.

The vehicle remained in the custody of police during processing as Washington was eventually released from the hospital.

Washington informed police he did not wish to pursue charges and did not know who the suspect was or how many suspects were involved.

As a result of Washington’s information, the incident was closed without an arrest at this time.
