Titusville Police Arrest Man For Robbery By Sudden Snatching, Battering An Elderly Woman

Titusville Police have arrested a suspect who robbed and battered a elderly woman in a Winn Dixie parking lot on Saturday (Nov. 25) located at 1564 Harrison Street.

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Titusville Police have arrested a suspect who robbed and battered a elderly woman in a Winn Dixie parking lot on Saturday (Nov. 25) located at 1564 Harrison Street.

Police have identified the suspect as 25-year-old Christopher Lynn Braun, from Titusville.

According to Amy Matthews of the Titusville Police Department, the preliminary investigation revealed that on Saturday (Nov. 25) at around 9 a.m., Braun approached the elderly woman in the parking area, forcefully took the victim’s purse and then fled the scene in a vehicle.

Within minutes, police located Braun traveling eastbound on Cheney Highway and conducted a traffic stop on the suspect’s vehicle where the suspect was taken into custody without incident.

Braun was charged with Aggravated Battery Against a Person over 65, Robbery by Sudden Snatching, Violation of Felony Probation, Destruction of Evidence, Petty Theft and Driving While License Suspended Without Knowledge.

The victim was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

Braun is being held at the Brevard County Jail.
