BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Titusville police officials issued an update Thursday evening about the Florida AMBER Alert that was issued Tuesday for a 15-year-old girl who last seen in the area of the 1600 block of Barna Avenue in Titusville.
Titusville Police Department Deputy Chief Todd Hutchinson said TPD investigators have received interest from Miami-Dade Police about a missing person case concerning 17-year-old Dania Bellegarde on May 7.
“While we cannot discuss Miami’s case, we can speak for ourselves in that there is interest on both sides to find out if the girl forced into a vehicle in Titusville could be the missing girl from Miami,” said Hutchinson.
“While the missing Miami teen came to our investigator’s attention early in our investigation, a witness initially claimed that it was not the girl she saw forced into a gray SUV on Barna Avenue in Titusville shortly before 8 a.m. on May 15. However, the witness now feels it could have been. That, combined with the interest from investigators in the Miami case, has made this a stronger lead for us.”
Hutchinson said that authorities continue to receive tips from the public and are convinced that there is someone who could provide police the information they need to solve this possible abduction.
“We encourage the public to consider the opportunity to remain anonymous if they do not want to come forward, by calling 800-424-TIPS,” said Hutchinson. “If this was something other than an abduction, it is critical that we do not continue to pour resources toward an abduction when it was not.”

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – A Florida AMBER Alert was issued Tuesday for a 15-year-old girl who last seen in the area of the 1600 block of Barna Avenue in Titusville.
Law enforcement authorities have not identified the girl.
“Our Investigative teams have tracked down numerous tips, including some claims on social media about who the missing person is, but all tips have been eliminated so far and do not have anything to do with our possible abduction yesterday,” said Titusville Police Deputy Chief Todd Hutchinson.
“Yesterday’s investigation revealed three independent witnesses that described the incident in which a young female was forced into a vehicle against her will. We are still acting on the assumption that this was an abduction, but recognize this could have been a dispute between known persons.”
Hutchinson said he is hopeful to get that one lead that solves this case and police continue to ask for tips from the community. You can remain anonymous by calling CRIMELINE at 800-423-TIPS.
