PREP FOOTBALL: Palm Bay Pirates, Titusville Terriers Claim Kickoff Classic Victories

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Kickoff Classics began on Thursday along Florida’s Space Coast with Palm Bay High and Titusville High each claiming a victory.

Palm Bay Pirates defeated the Melbourne Bulldogs on Thursday 34-7. The Pirates rolled after scoring the game’s opening 34 unanswered points. Melbourne was able to avoid the shutout when sophomore Davis Mallinger ran in a 3-yard touchdown run in the closing minutes of the fourth quarter.

Palm Bay will head north next Friday to take on Cocoa in Ryan Schneider’s debut as the Tigers head coach.

Melbourne will host Titusville next Friday.

Titusville Terriers defeated the Seabreeze Sandcrabs 12-3 on Thursday in Titusville. The victory was new Titusville Head Coach Andrew Capuano “Coach Cap” first win as a head coach. Capuano was introduced as the Terriers head coach in June after former head coach Wayne Lawrence decided to step away from head coaching duties this year to spend time with his family.
