Steven Eugene Krug Passes Away Peacefully at Age 57 After Long Struggle With Cancer

Air Force Veteran Served U.S. Post office for 24 Years

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Steven Eugene “Steve” Krug, 57, passed away peacefully after a long struggle with cancer at the Hospice of St. Francis on Sunday, August 19, 2018.

Steven was born October 24, 1960, in Titusville, Florida to Howard “Gene” and Donna (Keef-Green) Krug. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for 10 years, followed by 24 years of service for the U.S. Post office. He recently retired after 34 years of hard work.

Steven is survived by his current wife of 3 1/2 years Wanda; daughters, Helen, Rosalind, Georgina and Lindsay; son, Blake; his grandchildren, Logen, Benedict, Nora and Hadley; parents, Gene and Donna; brothers, Scott and Shawn; along with several cousins and extended family members. He is preceded in death by his first wife of 21 years, Julie (Moore) Krug.

Steven was a wonderful father and a great person to call a friend. He would do anything for anyone and was loved by everyone he met. He had a fulfilling career and will be dearly missed by his work family and all friends.

The family would like to give special thanks to the Hospice of St. Francis for the great care they provided him to ease his transition to a higher plane.

A memorial service was held in his honor on Sunday, August 26, at Newcomer Funeral Home where the U.S. Post Office honored him by conducting a processional of mail trucks in front of the funeral home and down the street, finishing with parking for the funeral service.

Steven’s daughter Helen, who is a current post office employee, led the procession by driving the truck her father used while in service for the post office.

“It was just an amazing tribute, and while we thanked them personally, I would like to share with the community how awesome they were to do that, and how thankful we are for the memory,” said Steven’s daughter Rosalind. “It would have made our Dad so proud.”

In lieu of flowers, donations in Steven’s honor can be sent to the Disabled American Veteran’s Trust or any cancer charity of your choice.
