Paul McCartney performed an historic set from New York’s Grand Central Terminal celebrating the release of his album, Egypt Station.

Egypt Station marks McCartney’s first new album since 2013’s New. Later this year, he’ll embark on his Freshen Up Tour through Canada before bringing the trek to sparingly played U.S. cities in 2019. McCartney is also among the headliners at this year’s Austin City Limits Festival in October.

McCartney talked about his choice in naming the album, “I liked the words ‘Egypt Station.’ It reminded me of the ‘album’ albums we used to make.”

“Egypt Station starts off at the station on the first song and then each song is like a different station. So it gave us some idea to base all the songs around that. I think of it as a dream location that the music emanates from.”

He performed familiar hits like “Let it Be,” ”Can’t Buy Me Love,” ”A Hard Day’s Night” and “Lady Madonna.” He also dug deeper into his songbook for “I’ve Got a Feeling,” ”Hi Hi Hi” and “1985.”
