BREVARD COUNTY • CANAVERAL GROVES, FLORIDA – Brevard County Fire Rescue units, with assistance from Cocoa Fire Rescue, responded to a residential structure blaze in the 3700 block of Canaveral Groves Boulevard in Canaveral Groves on Sunday afternoon.
Upon arrival, firefighters found a heavily involved garage with flames coming through the roof a short time later.
“Crews successfully knocked the fire down and stopped forward progress into the rest of the home,” said Brevard County Fire Rescue on social media.
According to Brevard County Fire Rescue, no one was injured.
The Red Cross has been called to assist four adults and one child who were displaced from the home.
“One cat was found inside and coaxed to safety by BCFR crews,” said Brevard County Fire Rescue officials.
“Fire Rescue crews did a great job keeping the fire from spreading to the rest of the home and contained it to the attic and garage area.”
