ORLANDO, FLORIDA (UCF Knights) – On Saturday, Street & Smith’s Sports Business Journal took a look back at the most influential people in sports business for 2018 and among the six named was UCF Vice President and Director of Athletics Danny White.
“I’m truly honored by this recognition,” White said. “But our talented and incredible student-athletes, coaches, staff, fans and donors are the most critical pieces to our many successes. They deserve all of the credit. Many thanks to SBJ for recognizing how awesome Knight Nation truly is!”
Joining White as those named in the article are Dallas Mavericks CEO Cynthia Marshall, Brooklyn Nets minority owner Joe Tsai, former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper, and Olympic gold medalist Aly Raisman.
White has just completed his third full year at UCF, beginning in December of 2015. Under his leadership the Knights have seen great success in competition, in the classroom and in the community.
On White, SBJ wrote “No AD did more to generate publicity than UCF’s Danny White.” Referencing the national championship, SBJ said it did more for the school and the American Athletic Conference than any other event in the conference’s first five years.
