Nominations Now Being Accepted for Space Coast Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2019

Hall of Fame Class of 2018 to be inducted May 10

Brevard’s finest sportsmen and women will be inducted this into the 2019 Class of the Space Coast Sports Hall of Fame on May 10. BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The 2019 Space Coast Sports Hall of Fame Induction Banquet and Sports Awards will be held Friday, May 10 at the Cocoa Beach County Club and nominations are now being accepted for the Class of 2019.

For more than a century, athletes from Brevard County have been considered among the finest in America and their accomplishments are honored and immortalized by the Space Coast Sports Hall of Fame.

Space Coast Daily created the Space Coast Sports Hall of Fame in 2012 and has so far inducted more than 140 of Brevard’s most outstanding athletes, coaches and sports personalities.

SELECTED IN FOUR CATEGORIES

Nominees are chosen in four categories including professional sports, college sports, high school sports and amateur sports. Special honorary recognition is also be bestowed upon individuals and groups that have made significant contributions to sports on the Space Coast.

A special committee will select the Class of 2019, and the inductees will be enshrined in the Space Coast Sports Hall of Fame on Friday, May 10, 2019.

The list of potential and deserving candidates for induction traditionally include athletes and coaches everybody knows – and some that may have been forgotten with the passing of time.

The Space Coast Sports Hall of Fame is located in the main athletic building on the Melbourne Campus of Eastern Florida State College. Portraits and biographies of the Hall of Famers are displayed on the wall in the building’s main hallway that runs parallel to the gym and outside the athletic department offices. Memorabilia items and related sports artifacts will be added to the display over time.
