BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Florida Highway Patrol has arrested a Vero Beach woman for a drunk driving crash on October 26, 2018, that killed 17-year-old Zachary O’Quinn and seriously injured 18-year-old John Byrd.

Both boys lived in Palm Bay.

The woman has been identified as 44-year-old April Ann Gielow and has been charged with DUI Manslaughter, DUI with serious bodily injury and DUI with property damage.

The investigation has revealed that Gielow was traveling on Babcock St. and crossed over the double yellow line, striking the car Quinn and Byrd were traveling in head-on near Davis Ln.

Troopers say Gielow recorded a blood alcohol level was .285% which is over three-times the legal limit.

Gielow is currently being booked into the Brevard County Jail.
