SpaceX Set To Launch Falcon 9 Rocket Thursday Night From Cape Canaveral

BREVARD COUNTY • CAPE CANAVERAL, FLORIDA – SpaceX has announced their Falcon 9 rocket, carrying the PSN 6 communications satellite and SpaceIL’s Lunar Lander, is scheduled to launch Thursday night from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.
Launch window opens at 8:45 p.m. ET.
The rocket launch Thursday night will be Cape Canaveral’s first launch of 2019.
On-board the Falcon 9 rocket is the PSN 6 communications satellite and SpaceIL’s Lunar Lander, named Beresheet.
According to SpaceFlight Now, the satellite is owned by Indonesia’s PT Pasifik Satelit Nusantara and will provide voice and data communications, broadband Internet, and video distribution throughout the Indonesian archipelago.

A privately-funded lunar lander developed by Israel’s SpaceIL will ride piggyback on this launch, along with the Air Force Research Laboratory’s S5 payload, under a rideshare arrangement to geostationary transfer orbit and geostationary orbit provided by Spaceflight.
