Law Enforcement Memorial Service Set Friday, May 17

WATCH LIVE: The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office and the Police Hall of Fame are holding the annual Law Enforcement Memorial Service tonight and Space Coast Daily is live to cover the emotional ceremony on the grounds of the American Police Hall of Fame in Titusville.

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office and the American Police Hall of Fame will hold the annual Law Enforcement Memorial Service on Friday, May 17 on the grounds of the Hall of Fame in Titusville.

The commencement and invocation are at 7:30 p.m. and the benediction and closing will be at 9 pm.

Law Enforcement officials that will attend include Sheriff Wayne Ivey – Brevard County, Chief John Lau – Titusville PD, Sheriff Mike Chitwood – Volusia County, along with Captain Kimberly Kilpatrick – Port Orange PD, Agent Jeffrey Sutherland – U.S. Border Patrol, Warden Steven Wellhausen – FL Corrections, Chief Jack Rinchich – President – National Association of Chiefs of Police and Captain Brian Smith – President – American Federation of Police.

Also attending will be concerned citizens will all come together along with 508 police family survivors from 27 states to recognize and remember fallen officers from across the nation.

Readings, roll call, songs, a 21-gun salute, along with a horse & caisson complete this somber military style service.

More than 13,000 U.S. flags have been posted on the Hall of Fame’s Hill of Remembrance on State Road 405 as well as around Hall of Fame property.

The service is free of charge and open to the public. Everyone is encouraged to attend to show support to our men and women in law enforcement.
