BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Former Florida Tech forward Tereza Sedlakova has signed a professional contract with the Nottingham Wildcats of the Women’s British Basketball League.
“I am very excited to join the Wildcats as I think it will be a great experience and a challenge at the same time,” said Sedlakova.
“Obviously, the playing styles in the USA and in Britain are a bit different and going from a team leader to a newbie again might not be easy at first but I’m up for the challenge.”
The Pezinok, Slovakia native averaged 10.5 points on 45% shooting and 5.6 rebounds per game as a senior for the Panthers last season.
Sedlakova averaged 7.3 points and 4.3 rebounds per game and played in 108 contests over her four-year career at Tech.
Sedlakova, who was named the 2018-19 Florida Tech Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year, graduated from the school with a perfect 4.0 grade point average and a bachelor’s degree in global business and finance.
She was a member of the Delta Mu Delta and Phi Eta Sigma Honor Societies while also earning a certificate in Global Collaboration and Cross-Cultural Competence.
“Personally, I want to develop to be an athlete that younger players can look up to, on and off the court,” Sedlakova stated.
“That is also one of the main reasons I chose Nottingham Wildcats. I am very thankful for this opportunity and cannot wait for the season to start.”
