BCFR: Home suffered significant damage, residents made it out safely

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – Brevard County Fire Rescue units responded to a residential house fire in the 2600 block of Newfound Harbor Drive on Merritt Island early Friday morning.

When Brevard County Fire Rescue units arrived, the home was heavily involved and required defensive fire conditions.

Brevard County Fire Rescue officials said that the residents made it out safely and no injuries occurred.

“Crews were able to save some sentimental items from the home which suffered significant damage,” said Brevard County Fire Rescue officials.

The circumstances of the blaze has not yet been released and the fire is currently under investigation by the State Fire Marshal.
