UPDATE: Trauma Alert Issued for Two Children After Golf Cart Crash in Viera on Lake Andrew Drive

Brevard County Fire Rescue is on the scene of a golf cart crash at on Lake Andrew Drive and Napolo Drive. According to Brevard County Fire Rescue, two children were injured in the crash that happened at around 3 p.m. Two trauma alerts were issued and the victims were transported to the hospital. The circumstances of the crash and have not yet been reported.

BREVARD COUNTY • VIERA, FLORIDA – Lt. Km Montes of the Florida Highway Patrol provided an update for the car vs. golf cart crash that happened at Lake Andrew Drive in Viera Friday afternoon around 2:50 p.m. 

According to Lt. Montes, William Brown, 59, of Melbourne, was driving a 2007 Mitsubishi southbound on Lake Andrew Drive, while the golf cart, driven by a 14-year-old boy northbound on the west sidewalk of lake Andrew Drive, attempted to cross at Napolo Drive.

According to Lt. Montes, the car and golf cart collided and the cart driver and 16-year-old passenger were ejected.

“Due to conflicting statements about who had the right of way, no charges have been filed,” said Lt. Montes.

The driver of the golf cart was taken to Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in Orlando with serious injuries. The 16-year-old passenger, who also suffered serious injuries, was transported to Health First’s Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne.

Brevard County Fire Rescue units E47, R47 and R46 were on the scene of the crash and issued the trauma alerts.

This crash remains under investigation.
