BREVARD COUNTY • VIERA, FLORIDA – Brevard County Fire Rescue units E47, E48, DC45, R47 and R48 responded to a construction incident Saturday in which one victim was transported to the hospital via Health First First Flight after a trauma alert was issued.

According to Brevard County Fire Rescue, the incident happened at a hotel under construction in Viera on Metfield Drive.

“A large roof assembly being hoisted by a crane fell on two workers trapping them,” said Brevard County Fire Rescue officials.

Surrounding construction workers used heavy equipment prior to Brevard County Fire Rescue’s arrival to free workers.

No information was released on the condition of the second victim.
