Eastern Florida State College Defeats DME Academy 91-63 at NWF Classic

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College women’s basketball team improved to 10-1 on the season with a win at the NWF Classic Thursday night.

The Titans used a big third quarter to defeat DME Academy 91-63 in Niceville.

Eastern Florida State College led by two points at halftime, 28-26 but came out in the third quarter on fire, outscoring DME Academy 34-14 in the quarter.

Stephanie Torres once again led the offensive attack with 19 points while Milan Schimmel scored 17. Sophomores Mercy Gonzalez and Skye Williams finished with 15 and 14 points respectively.

Anja Knoflach finished with a team-high 13 rebounds to go with her six points.

The Titans, who are No. 24 in the latest NJCAA Division I women’s basketball poll, will play unbeaten and the fourth-ranked team in the nation, Northwest Florida State College Friday at 8 p.m. It is the first time in two years that the Titans have been ranked in the NJCAA poll.
