‘Swingtime’ to Perform Big Band Greatest Hits January 12 at Riverside Presbyterian Church

Cocoa Beach's 'The Music Church' Swings in the New Year featuring Big Band favorites

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – If it’s January in Cocoa Beach, it can mean only one thing: Big Band music at Riverside Presbyterian Church.

The church will swing in 2020 with Big Band Greatest Hits, a free concert at 7 p.m. on Sunday, January 12 at 3400 N. Atlantic Avenue (A1A).
Big Band Greatest Hits will feature the Swingtime Band, under the direction of saxophonist, Art Martin, who has performed with the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra, Dizzy Gillespie and The Platters.
Popular vocalist Len Fallen, along with Sally Hart, best known for her time on The Lawrence Welk Show, will be singing a treasure trove of favorites during Big Band Greatest Hits.
Adding to the authentic sound will be The Swingtimers Vocal Trio with Connie Maltby, Diana Sageser and Dave Hutson, performing “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy,” “Sentimental Journey” and “Chattanooga Choo Choo” in the tight harmony style reminiscent of Manhattan Transfer.

Known as The Music Church, Riverside Presbyterian Church in Cocoa Beach presents free concerts as part of the Dr. Vernon Boushell concert series, a musical legacy dedicated to uplifting the people of Brevard.
