BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Florida Tech linebacker Evan Thompson announced that he will be playing Division I FBS football at Florida Atlantic University next season.

Even Thompson will be finishing his college career off being coached by Willie Taggart at Florida Atlantic University.

He will be moving up from Division II football to Division I FBS.

While Thompson attended Florida Tech he starred on the football field and on the greens of the golf course.

Thompson is from Clermont, Florida, and attended Foundation Academy.

EVAN THOMPSON’S STATS AT FLORID TECH

2019 football: Appeared in 11 games, recorded a total of 89 tackles, 60 solo, 29 assisted, 5.5 sacks, 1 forced fumble, and one interception.

2018 football: Appeared in 12 games, recorded a total of 63 tackles, 41 solo and 22 assisted, recovered 1 fumble.

2017-18 Golf: Competed in two tournaments, posted a scoring average of 77.50 over six rounds of play, shot a season-best 3-over 75 in final round of the Panther Invitational, named to SSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll…named to Florida Tech Athletic Director’s Honor Roll.

2017 Football: Appeared in 10 games, ranked second on the team with 52 total tackles, 45 solo and 14 assisted…made 4.5 tackles for loss totaling eight yards, had one pass breakup, forced two fumbles and one fumble recovery, named to GSC Fall Honor Roll.
