West Melbourne Police Detectives Seize $65,000 in Cash and Cocaine, Arrest 65-Year-Old Robert Howard

BREVARD COUNTY • WEST MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The West Melbourne Police Strategic Response Team assisted West Melbourne Police Special Investigations Detectives on Wednesday to serve a search warrant on a residence on NW Irvin Avenue.
According to West Melbourne police officials, Robert Howard, 65, of West Melbourne was arrested for possession with intent to sell/manufacture/deliver cocaine within 1000 feet of a church, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
“During the search of Howard’s residence, detectives discovered and seized over $65,000 cash, 17 grams of cocaine as well as marijuana. These charges come after detectives conducted a lengthy months’ long investigation,” said police on social media.
Howard is being held at the Brevard County Jail on a $122,500 bond.
According to police, Howard has a lengthy criminal history including, but not limited to being arrested several times for possession of cocaine with intent to sell, violations of felony probation, sale of counterfeit controlled substance, possession of controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting officers with violence, and driving while license suspended.
