BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Earlier this week Brevard County Sheriff’s Office K-9 “Waylon” and his partner Deputy Adam Steuerwald responded to our Canaveral Precinct area to assist Deputy Daniel Magill with a traffic stop and boy did they assist.
Upon arrival Deputy Magill requested that Deputy Steuerwald and K-9 “Waylon” conduct a “sniff search” of the exterior of the vehicle that was being driven by Bruce Lee Campbell and occupied by Laura Ann Adkinson.
During the search, K-9 “Waylon” alerted to the quarter panel area of the vehicle immediately near where Campbell was leaning against it prior to the search.
Deputy Magill was made aware of the alert by K-9 Waylon and that the location was exactly where Campbell had been leaning prior to the start of the K-9 Search.
Campbell was subsequently arrested for Driving While License Suspended or Revoked as he is a Habitual Traffic Offender.
During a search conducted pursuant to his arrest, Deputy Magill located in the waistband of Campbell’s boxers briefs 19 grams of Cocaine, 1.7 grams of Fentanyl, 2.7 grams of Heroin, and 10 grams of Meth.
Also located in his pocket was $3,339 in cash and two different wallets.

In addition to the Habitual Traffic Offender charges, Campbell was also arrested on multiple counts of drug possession and was transported to the Brevard County Jail where he was detained on a $77,000 bond,
At first appearance, however, Campbell’s bond was adjusted by the attending Judge to $375,000.
This is another great example of the excellent work our Deputies do each and every day to take criminals off our streets as they work to keep our community and our children safe.
Fentanyl is one of the most dangerous drugs in the world as even a very small dose or exposure has the ability to cause death.
Please join me in thanking Deputy Magill, Deputy Steuerwald, and of course, the star of the dynamic team K-9 “Waylon” who I am sure was rewarded with a nice juicy piece of steak if I know Adam, as well as I, think I do.
