KNIGHTS FACE TULSA IN ORLANDO OCT. 3

ORLANDO – The UCF football team improved to 2-0 on Saturday with a 51-28 road win at ECU, and on Sunday the Knights jumped two spots in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll, ranking 11th overall with 743 total points.

It marks the highest ranking UCF has held this early in a season. In 2018, the Knights were ranked 12th on September 27 and then 10th on October 7, and at that point the team was already 5-0.

UCF also moved up two spots in the Amway Coaches Poll, ranking 12th in the nation with 577 votes.

The Knights are still one of three American Athletic Conference teams in both polls, as Cincinnati is 15th in both polls, while Memphis dropped to 25th in the AP Poll and 24th in the Coaches Poll while idle this week.

Clemson remained on top of both polls with Alabama and Florida rounding out the top three.

UCF has now been ranked in the Top 25 a total of 51 times and is 37-4 all-time as a ranked team after defeating ECU this weekend.

The Knights are back in action this Saturday, opening the home slate with AAC opponent Tulsa. UCF and the Golden Hurricane are scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff on ESPN2 and FM 96.9 The Game.
