BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Titusville Police have arrested a local man in connection with an armed robbery that happened to a woman at Quality Inn Hotel, located off Cheney Highway in Titusville on Friday.

The suspect was identified by police as 28-year-old Steven Levon Fields, a convicted felon from St. Petersburg, Florida, who was charged with Robbery with a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Theft.

Police say the investigation began on Friday, October 23, around 3:30 a.m., when officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Quality Inn Hotel located at 3655 Cheney Highway.

The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect approached the woman in a hotel room and demanded money at gunpoint.

The woman complied with Fields’ demands, fled the area, but was not injured.

Couple hours later, at around 5:30 a.m., officers located the suspect as he was exiting the hotel room.

He was then positively identified and taken into custody by police without incident.

A search of the suspect revealed he was in possession of narcotics, a firearm and the alleged stolen money.

Fields was booked into the Brevard County Jail without bond.
