BREVARD COUNTY MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – Last year, Merritt Island High School clubs and organizations created seasonal wreaths that were hung on the room doors of every patient who delivered a baby in the month of December at Cape Canaveral Hospital.

Mother and baby were able to take their wreaths home with them.

This year, Health First granted Merritt Island High School permission to also decorate the William Child’s Hospice House 16 bed in-patient facility located in Palm Bay – to bring some holiday cheer to patients and their families.

Merritt Island High School Employee of the Year Beth Centeno and the freshman Class of 2024 challenged all their fellow Mustangs to make wreaths and the response was overwhelming.

Principal James Rehmer and Centeno delivered the wreaths to Cape Canaveral and The William Child’s Hospice House shortly before Thanksgiving.
