BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Kyleigh may only be seven years old but she already knows what she wants to be when she grows up, a Deputy Sheriff with the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.
Kyleigh loves cops and our partners at Fire/Rescue so much that this morning with the help of her parents she hosted her fourth Annual Public Safety Donut Stand for Local Heroes.
A few years ago, Kyleigh told her parents that she wanted to give her local heroes a donut and a smile so she could show them how much she loves them and what started as an amazingly kind gesture of love for our first responders, has turned into a four-year tradition that we all look forward to.
Kyleigh and her family opened their doors for business early this morning and as you can imagine the ‘Hero Donut Stand’ got a lot of business throughout the morning from both our agency and our partners at Brevard County Fire Rescue and local law enforcement.
Everyone showed up to meet Kyleigh and to get donuts including me and Junny as we truly have enjoyed the event each and every year.
I tell everyone that we are truly blessed to serve as Law Enforcement Officers in Brevard County where our citizens love us, trust us, and protect us just as much as we love, trust, and protect them and Kyleigh’s show of love through the years is a perfect example of just how true that statement really is.
Please join me in thanking Kyleigh for inviting us, her parents who made today possible by teaching their children to love and respect our local heroes, and of course all of the First Responders who stopped by to meet Kyleigh so they could leave with a smile and a sugar rush.
