Officials say an 8-acre prescribed burn is happening today in Grant-Valkaria, west of Old Dixie Hwy and south of Valkaria Rd.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Officials say an 8-acre prescribed burn is happening today in Grant-Valkaria, west of Old Dixie Hwy and south of Valkaria Rd.

Prescribed burn, or controlled burning, is a technique used in forest management, farming, or prairie restoration.
