Motorcyclist Dies in Crash Thursday Night on South Babcock Street in Melbourne

Melbourne Police were called to the scene of fatal crash involving a motorcycle on Thursday night near South Babcock Street and Southgate Boulevard.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne Police were called to the scene of fatal crash involving a motorcycle on Thursday night near South Babcock Street and Southgate Boulevard.

At approximately 8 p.m. on Thursday, Melbourne Police responded to the area of South Babcock Street and Southgate Boulevard regarding a motorcycle vs. vehicle crash.

Upon arrival, officers discovered that the operator of the motorcycle had sustained life threatening injuries and succumbed to his injuries as a result of the crash.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the decedent was operating a 2011 Kawasaki motorcycle while traveling north on South Babcock Street.

The motorcyclist struck a 2006 Buick four-door, which was attempting to make a left turn from South Babcock Street onto Southgate Boulevard.

Police say it appears no alcohol or drugs were not a factor in this crash.

The identity of the crash victim has not yet been released by police.
