BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 30-year-old Brittany Bishop-Gillison of Merritt Island, for killing her sister Kapricia Bishop on March 25 at a residence on Topaz Court in Merritt Island.

Bishop-Gillison has been charged her with First-Degree Premeditated Murder.

She is currently being held at the Brevard County Jail Complex on $750,000 bond.

The investigation began Friday afternoon when deputies responded to a residence on Topaz Court at approximately 3:20 p.m., in reference to a disturbance.

Upon arrival, deputies located Kapricia Bishop, who had suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Based on evidence collected and statements gathered during the investigation, agents believe that the shooting occurred during an argument between the sisters that began inside the residence,” said Tod Goodyear of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.

“As the argument continued outside, Bishop-Gillison armed herself with a firearm and discharged it, striking the victim and causing her death.”
