Motorcyclist Killed Friday Night in I-95 Crash in Melbourne, One injured

Florida Highway Patrol is currently on the scene of deadly crash involving a vehicle and a motorcycle at Cox Road and Fisherman’s Place in Cocoa.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – A motorcyclist was killed Friday night after a crash on I-95 near US-192 in Melbourne.

Authorities say the crash happened when the motorcyclist was traveling northbound I-95 heading to U.S. Hwy. 192 exit ramp.

As the motorcyclist approached the exit ramp he noticed a vehicle that was stopped on the exit ramp, which caused the rider to lock up the motorcycle and overturned the bike.

A passenger who was on the motorcycle suffered minor injuries. The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne.

The motorcyclist killed in the crash has been identified as a 52-year-old man from Spring Lake Park, while the passenger was a 48-year-old woman from Spring Lake Park,.

The crash remains under investigation.
