Two People Dead After Possible Murder-Suicide Shooting in Palm Bay

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Palm Bay Police are currently investigating a deadly shooting that happened Tuesday night involving a possible murder-suicide incident between a man and a woman.
Police responded to the 300 block of Fitchburg Street SE in Palm Bay on Tuesday, March 1, shortly after 10:30pm in regards to a 911 call that was made by a woman who appeared to be in distress asking for officers to come to her house.
No other contact was made on the 911 call.
When officers arrived on scene, they discovered a man and woman with apparent gunshot wounds.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while the man was transported to a local hospital and was ultimately pronounced dead.
Evidence at the scene suggests the 72-year-old man shot and killed his 56-year-old girlfriend who lived with him, then shot himself.
Investigators discovered that they have been together for approximately 11 years and lived in Palm Bay.
Police say there were no previous history involving any incidents at the address.
The identities of the deceased are being withheld until the family has been properly notified.
