Events This Month on The Space Coast

By  //  July 8, 2022

There’s always something fun happening on the Space Coast wherever your interests lie. With a huge number of art galleries and theatres, culture vultures are always well catered for. Thanks to our sunny temperatures we’ve got plenty of great fresh produce to fill up farmer’s markets too.

Not only that, but us Floridians love a bit of friendly competition and there are plenty to suit all kinds of different hobbyists. So, with the fourth of July celebrations out of the way, you’ll be pleased to know there’s still plenty to look forward to on the Space Coast.

For the Competitors

Sitting down to a game of cards is one of the most pleasant ways to spend an evening and there are plenty of great venues that you can do that on the Space Coast. Some of them offer card games every night with no particular structure, whilst others offer full tournaments that are often free to enter.

This month American Legion Post are offering free to enter poker tournaments on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from six, with no need to become a member and Jabber’s Bar & Grill are also offering poker tournaments on a Monday at noon. They’re a great environment to meet fellow card players and form great friendships, or just take out the competition if you’re that way inclined!

If you want to brush up on your skills before you enter into one of the tournaments then it’s really easy to find poker at any online casino (คาสิโนออนไลน์) no matter whether you’re in Florida or Thailand. Practising online enables you to really nail your hand rankings without the pressure of a person sitting at the table with you, plus you can practice outside of tournament times as well.

For those who prefer a more physical kind of competition, there are a selection of bodybuilding competitions taking place this month. Perhaps the largest will be the Ty Pope Classic which is open to all athletes throughout the United States. It promises to be an intense competition with some emerging names who’ll be competing. If you want to compete yourself and you’re in the right shape to of course, then you’ll need to be a member of the National Physique Committee which costs $135 for a year’s membership.

As well as the chance to compete on the 16th of July, there’s also the chance to meet some bodybuilding professionals at breakfast time on the 17th of July. The whole event is scheduled to take place at the Orlando Marriott in Lake Mary and is set to be a big one, so don’t hesitate on buying tickets as it’s likely to sell out.

For the Culture Vultures

There’s always plenty going on in the realm of culture and July is no exception. At The Historic Cocoa Village Playhouse you’ll find broadway shows in an incredible setting. For those who’ve not visited before, the playhouse has been open since 1924 during the era of the silent movie and has been running films and productions ever since.

They’re now recognised on the National Register of Historic Places and as such, it makes a stunning venue for one of your evening’s off. On the 9th of July they’re announcing all of their show dates, so put it in your diary and grab yourself some tickets.

The Eau Gallery is one of the Space Coast’s most beloved art galleries, not only because of their incredible exhibitions but also because of their evening art walk. This takes place on the first Friday of the month, so you might to have to wait until August to grab tickets unless you’re very quick. However, even if you don’t get tickets this time around you’ll be able to enjoy free exhibitions in the main room of the gallery and the featured artist for this month is truly special.

For the Foodies

There are always lots of great food events happening and with the incredible weather we’ve been having it seems as though our local farmers are flooded with delicious produce. The Satellite Beach Farmer’s Market takes place on Thursdays from 10 until 5 and is held right by the beach, making it the perfect full day out.

As well as fresh produce and homemade foods, you’ll also find art, jewellery, soaps and more, the perfect spot to pick up a gift. Don’t forget to check out the Downtown Melbourne Farmer’s Market at Riverview Park each Saturday from 10 until 3. Similar selections are available here, but there are also a variety of food trucks and picnic spots so you may enjoy your purchases right away.
