Eastern Florida State College Cancels All Athletic Events for the Weekend Due to Hurricane Ian

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Eastern Florida State College athletics teams will be pausing all activities due to the threat of Hurricane Ian this week.
Seven teams were scheduled to have events this week that were either shortened, postponed or canceled due to the bad weather expected for Brevard County.
The women’s volleyball team was scheduled to play at home both Thursday evening and Saturday afternoon in Suncoast Conference matches. Both have been postponed and rescheduled.
The volleyball team will now play No. 17 Daytona State College on Oct. 18 at 6 p.m. at Titan Field House. The match against No. 13 Hillsborough Community College will be played on Oct. 25 at 6 p.m. at Titan Field House.
The No. 1 ranked women’s soccer team was supposed to open the Region 8 Conference schedule on Saturday against No. 13 Daytona State College. That game was postponed and will be rescheduled.
The women’s tennis team was supposed to compete in the ITA Regional Small College Championships in Tampa Saturday and Sunday.
The tournament is hoping to begin on Monday.
The No. 17 ranked men’s soccer team was supposed to leave for Wyoming on Thursday morning for two games this weekend but has cancelled the trip due to travel plans.
The men’s soccer team will be back at Orlando Health Stadium Tuesday evening against Space Coast United at 7 p.m.
The baseball team had two fall games scheduled this week, playing Elev8 on Wednesday and then TNXL on Thursday. Both have been cancelled.
The softball team also had two games scheduled this weekend that have been cancelled as Friday’s game against Tampa Heatwave and Saturday’s vs. Santa Fe Inferno have been washed out.
The women’s basketball team was supposed to begin their preseason schedule in Carrollton, Georgia for a jamboree but have cancelled the trip.
