Founder/CEO John Pasko talk with the Friday Night Locker Room’s Steve Wilson about an upcoming fundraiser to help support a Melbourne police officer injured in the line of duty. In April 2022, Officer Denise Procise was injured in an automobile accident responding to a call.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA –  When Melbourne Police Officer Denise Procise responded to a call last April she was involved in a serious accident when a vehicle pulled in front of her patrol car and Procise suffered extensive injuries.

With her grit and determination, she is now working her way back to the force, and on Thursday, Sept. 15,  there will be a fundraiser held to support Procise with medical, physical therapy, and other costs associated with her injuries.

The fundraiser, hosted by FrogBones Family Shooting Center, 404 S. Harbor City Blvd. in Melbourne, and Double Tapp Grill, and sponsored by Families of the Shield and Melbourne Police Foundation, will have a unique format.

In April 2022, Melbourne Police Officer Denise Procise was responding to a typical call. However, this ended up being anything but typical. En route to the call, she was involved in a serious accident when a vehicle pulled in front of her patrol car and Procise suffered extensive injuries.

Persons will have the opportunity to “Compete with the Chief” in shooting matches with handguns.

Melbourne Chief of Police David Gillespie will be shooting at the range against those that have signed up to compete.

The event will get underway at FrogBones at 4:30 p.m. and round two will begin at 5:30 p.m. After the shooting contest, individuals will make their way to Double Tapp Grill for food, fun and raffles.

This unique fundraiser has turned into a community event, and when asked about the enthusiastic support, Chief Gillespie said, “We are blessed to have a wonderful business community that is really concerned about officers and supports first responders as a whole.”
