SHERIFF WAYNE IVEY: Love Triangle Shooting Leads to ‘Free Ride and Stay at Ivey’s Iron Bar Lodge’
By Wayne Ivey, Brevard County Sheriff // November 21, 2022
SHERIFF IVEY: Thomas Blair shot the victim twice in the back before fleeing the scene
Victim: Hey Fred…I gotta go pick up a girl from her boyfriend’s house, should I take a car or the moped?
Fred: Are you nuts? Take the moped in case you have to get out of there quick!
Last week, in the late night hours when most people were sleeping, our victim received a phone call from a lady friend requesting he come covertly pick her up at a certain location so they could hang out without her boyfriend knowing.
So my main man hopped on his moped and drove to the location she requested, which was not at her house because she didn’t want her boyfriend to see them.
Now to make the story even better, her boyfriend and our victim at one time were roommates, so buckle up as you already know where this story is going.
As the two rode off into the night on the moped, within just a few minutes, they saw a vehicle pull up behind them, a vehicle they both recognized. Quickly they tried to lose it by riding through the grass, but the vehicle was hot on their tail.
So as proof that chivalry is not dead, he slowed down enough for his lady friend to jump off, and he continued to ride, just not fast enough.
Unfortunately, Thomas Blair, the driver of the vehicle and the boyfriend of the moped passenger, pulled up behind his old friend on the moped and shot him twice in the back before fleeing the scene.
Blair was ultimately arrested for shooting his friend and got a free ride and stay at Ivey’s Iron Bar Lodge for shooting his one-time friend in the back while he tried to get away on a moped.
Blair is being held on “No Bond” and was charged with Attempted Felony Murder, Aggravated Battery With A Firearm, and Discharging A Firearm From A Vehicle Within 1,000 Feet of a Person.
Thankfully, the victim is recovering from his injuries and, in the future, will not try to use a moped to outrun someone trying to kill him.
