Space Coast Daily Brevard Restaurant Review

BREVARD COUNTY • PORT CANAVERAL, FLORIDA – Rising Tide Tap & Table, located at 523 Glen Cheek Drive at Port Canaveral on Florida’s Space Coast, has high quality, imaginative tasty dishes made from fresh scratch ingredients, expertly prepared and served in a modern elegant bar-restaurant environment.
We sat at an inviting high table with a nice view of the large pond around the Port’s evocative Exploration Tower, beautifully lit with changing color lights, which created a gorgeous affect on the shimmering dark waters.
Our pretty and pleasant server named Emma was friendly, helpful and had a “can-do” attitude, which one does not always encounter these days.
We started with draft tall Stellas and Butter Chardonnay which were all delicious and at the perfect temperature. Three rounds followed.
Thinly sliced, fried Calamari and Spinach dip were our appetizer choices and were completely tasty and devoured.
The bar has great views of local art by talented creators like the increasingly famous Tom Clarke and huge 4K level TVs so you can always find what you want to watch.
The large banquette booths are also super-fun seating when perched with friends and also offer panoramic views inside and out.
The menu is very interesting and gives one a feeling of intrigue as there’s lots of variety in the choices and the ways in which they are prepared.
Rich Hensel, Gary Foreman and their partners have invested a great deal in this beautiful building which was formerly an Italian bakery.
The new outside deck over the waters is a unique place to enjoy the culinary creations. The open kitchen is always good to see as the Rising Tide chef Jeff Kainz and his talented team create dishes of beauty and imagination.
Our main menu choices were as follows: fish and chips, fillet with fries and vegetables and a salmon dish with rice.
This writer having had multiple fish and chips in England has to say that Rising Tide’s offering compared extremely well to the UK’s best. Dee-lush-uss. And there were three succulent portions to go with the ample hot fries. Creamy coleslaw and pickles made it a really great meal.

The salmon dish was beautifully presented – with flavored jasmine rice, asparagus, rocket greens and topped with water cress. Totally melt-in-the-mouth yummy-ily tender fish.
The fillet was ordered medium rare and that’s exactly how it arrived at our table. On the side were skin-on, oven roasted potatoes, thinly-sliced onion rings, mushrooms and a delicious rich gravy sauce.
All in all, we enjoyed a nice elevated feeling from Rising Tide at Port Canaveral and it’ll be a regular stop for us during the hols and in 2023.
Get your tide raised at the port at possibly the preeminent tap house on Florida’s Space Coast…and let them know that “Space Coast Daily loves ya.”
