BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne Central Catholic has named longtime Brevard County football coach Nate Hooks to lead the Hustlers program.

Hooks spent last season as associate head coach and passing game coordinator for the state champion Cocoa Tigers.

Prior to his time at Cocoa, Hooks was the longest-tenured head coach in Brevard County after spending eight seasons with Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, where he posted an overall record of 48-36 and led the program to their first-ever playoff win.

Hooks replaces Rich Pruzinsky, who stepped down at the end of this past season after the Hustlers went 2-8.

Hooks is the third head coach at MCC since 2018.

“This is not an easy task, but I’m pumped about the challenge!” said Hooks. ”

“A few years ago, MCC was arguably the third-best football program in the county. They went to the state semifinals. It’s time to win playoff games again. It’s time to take the rightful reign over the rival again. It’s time to make the alumni, faculty and students proud of MCC football again. It’s Time,” he said.
