Titusville Police Make Arrest in Hit-and-Run Crash That Critically Injured Pedestrian Crossing Knox McRae Drive

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Titusville police officers have arrested a suspect in connection with a hit-and-run traffic crash that occurred on Sunday, January 15.
According to Titusville police spokesperson Amy Matthews, the driver and sole occupant of the suspect vehicle, Nathaniel Anthony Nanan, 26, of Titusville, was taken into custody without incident as he exited the vehicle and attempted to enter a residence.
“The primary investigation revealed at approximately 8:45 p.m., officers witnessed the adult male victim walking southbound across Knox McRae Drive at the intersection of South Hopkins Avenue when a 2013 beige Toyota Corolla struck him as it traveled westbound on Knox McRae Drive,” said Matthews.
“The driver of the beige Toyota Corolla did not stop to render aid and fled the scene at a high rate of speed westbound on Knox McRae Drive.”
Officers immediately responded to the traffic crash, and the victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
Within minutes, the suspect vehicle was located by officers on the 3400 Block of Barna Avenue, and Nanan was taken into custody.
Nanan was charged with Failing to Stop or Remain at the Scene of a Crash Involving Serious Injury, Driving While License Suspended/Canceled/Revoked with Knowledge, Failing to Give Information and Render Aid (Crash), and Operating a Vehicle While License Suspended/Canceled/Revoked Causing Death or Serious Bodily Injury.
Nanan is being held on a $35,000 bond at the Brevard County Jail.
