Palm Bay Police Department Honors Exemplary Service During Annual Award Ceremony

The Palm Bay Police Department hosted its Annual Awards Ceremony at City Hall on Tuesday. BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – The Palm Bay Police Department hosted its Annual Awards Ceremony at City Hall on Tuesday.

Chief Mario Augello recognized several categories of recipients including the Medal of Valor, Life Saving Awards and Meritorious Awards to name a few.

Chief Augello recognized the following members for their excellent service throughout the year:

■ V-Cop of the Year – Ken Nye

■ Communications Officer of the Year – Michael Ziegler

■ Civilian Employee of the Year – DBS Latisha Dean

■ Officer of the Year – SVU Detective Nicole Caroffino

■ Chief’s Leadership Award – Brett Naymik

The City of Palm Bay Police Department has 172 sworn police officers, in addition to numerous civilian and support personnel. The police agency is broken into various sections, such as the Uniform Services Division, Support Services Division, and Criminal Investigations Division.

Each section assigns officers to various tasks, such as patrol, traffic enforcement, training officers, detectives, and similar tasks. There are three police districts within the city and officers are assigned to each district.
