BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College Board of Trustees recently honored prominent Brevard County attorney Alan Landman for more than a decade of service to the college.
Landman was appointed to the EFSC Board of Trustees in 2009, and during his tenure, he served as chair five times and played a major role in the college’s rapid growth.
“It gives me great pleasure to recognize Alan Landman, a community leader who has left a lasting mark on Eastern Florida State College,” said EFSC President Dr. Jim Richey.
“His leadership was instrumental in the college’s transformation into a state college; the significant expansion of the Melbourne Campus, including student housing; and the launch of more than 60 new academic programs, including the first bachelor degrees in the college’s history.
“Alan’s leadership also enabled us to strengthen strategic partnerships with local businesses to create a skilled workforce, helping to fuel economic growth here on Florida’s Space Coast. We are grateful for your leadership, vision and friendship,” said Richey.
Landman is a Melbourne attorney who received his law degree from the University of Florida in 1987 and worked for one of Brevard County’s largest law firms until 1993 when he started his own highly successful practice in criminal and family law.
“Serving on the EFSC Board of Trustees has been a humbling experience,” said Landman.
“Dr. Richey, you have transformed this college tremendously and it has been a privilege to be a part of it all. This plaque is a symbol. As I sit in my office and look at it, I will be reminded of the relationships, and the many achievements of which we should all be proud. These have been some of the best times in my life. My heart is still 100% with this institution, every day.”
Landman’s position on the EFSC Board of Trustees was filled by the appointment of Laura Moody in May 2022.
