Man, 72, Loses Leg in Alligator Attack at the Great Outdoors RV and Golf Resort in Titusville

Florida Fish and Wildlife, Brevard Sheriff’s Deputies killed alligator with rifle fire
BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – A 72-year-old Titusville man is recovering from a gator attack after losing his right leg from the knee down Friday afternoon when an alligator attacked him in a canal off Windsong Way at the Great Outdoors RV and Golf Resort, according to Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission officials.
Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officers and Brevard County Sheriff’s Deputies killed the alligator with rifle fire, which had a human foot protruding from the end of its mouth. An FWC officer retrieved the foot and part of the leg.
The yet-to-be-identified victim was flown to Health First’s Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne and his condition was not disclosed.
