BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Karen Jeanne Amrol Hooper Dola departed this world on April 22, 2023, peacefully in her sleep. Born on July 24, 1951, she was the daughter of the late John and Aleta Amrol.

Karen grew up at 38 Beacon Street in Concord, New Hampshire, and attended Bishop Brady High School.

“In my mind, I can still see her running out on the basketball court in her cheering-leading uniform.” She attended Westbrook College, earning a degree in dental hygiene, and then worked as a hygienist for more than twenty years in the Concord area.

She also worked for Delta Dental, the United States Post Office, and the Boys and Girls Club of Concord.

When she moved to Florida, she found employment at the Kennedy Space Center as an administrative assistant in NASA Protective Services.

Karen loved her time at the Kennedy Space Center and all the guys she worked with. She looked forward to going to work every day. Once she had the opportunity to be on the flight deck of the space shuttle Atlantis. Karen always said this was the best job she ever had.

Karen loved her children and grandchildren deeply. She attended more than two thousand games of softball, soccer, and hockey all of which Brad, Angie, Joanie, and Daisy played in.

From the time she was a little girl, she was a big New England Patriots fan. For the last twenty years, she was a big fan of Tom Brady. She knew a lot about football and could argue with any guy about the game.

Karen loved to have family and friends over for cookouts and parties. She enjoyed returning to New Hampshire just about every summer visiting family and friends.

She loved decorating for the holidays and during the Christmas season, the inside of our home looked like the interior of Macy’s. Karen enjoyed walks on the beach, and looking up at the stars. Many times, we would watch the space station fly over as we enjoyed a bottle of wine.

She is survived by her husband Thomas Dolan; daughter Angela; son Brad; brother Jack; granddaughters Joanie and Daisy Mixson; grandson Kawliga Barfield; brother-in-law Kevin Hooper; sister-in-law Cindy and husband Al Paige; former husband Rodrick.

She is predeceased by her granddaughter Wionna Barfield; nephew Jackson Amrol; and niece Teisha Hooper.
