UPDATE: Merritt Island Man Identified in Deadly Shooting on Walter Street

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is identifying the man who was shot and killed in Merritt Island, on Saturday, June 10, 2023.
The man is identified as 47-year-old, Steven Rubino of Merritt Island.
The investigation began when deputies responded to a residence on Walter Street in Merritt Island in reference to male who had been shot. Upon arrival, an adult male was found at the residence suffering from a gunshot wound.
The male victim was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The investigation determined that the man was shot during a domestic violence incident at the residence.
The investigation is active and ongoing. Once the investigation is complete, it will be submitted to the State Attorney’s Office for review.
