Brevard County Jury Finds Luis Ramos Figueroa Guilty of First-Degree Murder For Killing Daniel Ramos

Ramos Figueroa sentencing set for November 14 at 1:30 pm
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – A Brevard County Jury found 19-year-old Luis Ramos Figueroa guilty of First-Degree Felony Murder with Firearm, Robbery with a Weapon, and Tampering with Physical Evidence in connection with the shooting death of 19-year-old Daniel Ramos in 2020.
Circuit Judge Tesha Scolaro Ballou presided over the six day trial with evidence presented by Assistant State Attorneys Jason Anderson and William Scheiner.
Ramos Figueroa did not testify and after approximately three and a half hours of deliberation, the jury returned with the guilty verdicts.
Judge Scolaro Ballou adjudicated Ramos Figueroa guilty, ordered him held in custody, and set sentencing for November 14, 2023, at 1:30 pm.
Ramos Figueroa, who was 16 at the time of the crime but prosecuted as an adult, is facing the possibility of a conditional life sentence.
On November 10, 2020,Ramos Figueroa and Martaz Sugar were indicted by a Grand Jury in connection with the robbery and shooting death of Daniel Ramos at the Mission Bay Apartments in Rockledge on July 3, 2020.
On June 7, 2023, Sugar entered a plea of guilty to Second-Degree Murder with Firearm, Robbery with a Firearm, and Tampering with Evidence, and was sentenced by Judge Scolaro Ballou to 30 years in prison, followed by 10 years of supervised probation.
